Memes That Roast Celebrities ‘Coping’ With Quarantine

We know that many of you are coping with quarantines, lockdowns, job loss and illness as the coronavirus outbreak worsens. And we feel for you. But there are some people we don’t have sympathy for. We simply cannot deal with celebrities who are trying to show solidarity during this time. Folks like Sam Smith are whining about quarantine from their expensive homes. Other celebs are saying “We’re all in this together” while sitting in mansions and eating food cooked by their private chefs. It all feels pretty ridiculous and disgusting. Memers have started to take notice of this gross behavior and are fighting the best way they know how: with memes.

Twitter Unites In Its Hatred Of Gal Gadot’s Star-Studded ‘Imagine’ Video

In super-cringey Coronavirus news, Gal Gadot seems to have done the unthinkable. After sharing a cringey video of  celebrities singing John Lennon’s ‘Imagine,’ it seems people on Twitter have put down their digital pitchforks to agree on one thing: The video is absolutely terrible.

The cover is comprised of stars such as Amy Adams, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig singing (often poorly) from their manses and gardens. It’s a pretty tone deaf attempt at bringing people together, and folks on Twitter were more than happy to share their distaste. If SNL were still operating, maybe we’d get a decent parody. But for now, we’re relying on netizens to roast the crap out of the video, and they’re doing a damn good job.

Man Battling Cancer Asks To Be Roasted, Reddit Responds With Wholesomeness

Redditor u/bookc420 has been going through a lot. So much that he approached the notoriously savage r/roastme subreddit  and they could barely insult him. Why? Well, here was his request:  “Fighting a rare stage four cancer called leomyosarcoma. Make me feel worse.”

Leiomyosarcoma is a rare and aggressive cancer, and at stage IV, it’s rarely curable. The creatively rude members of r/roastme seemed to soften at this post, offering up some roasts (usually punctuated with well-wishes) but mostly offering support and love during this unimaginably trying time. The thread went from dark to wholesome pretty quickly, and left us with a little more hope for humanity. We’ve put together some of our favorite responses, but you can take in more of this warmth over at the thread.

Times People Were Obliterated By Words

It’s said that the pen is mightier than the sword, and we’re inclined to say the same is true for a keyboard on a phone or laptop. This gallery is full of fiery roasts, savage insults, and creative put-downs. They’re a reminder that not everyone stoops to the “Your mom” level when trying to exact pain on someone they disagree with. If you need more savagery, check out r/MurderedByWords. There’s a lot more where these came from.

Savagely Creative Roasts That Scorched Brave Participants

When people ask to get roasted, they’re baring themselves and their appearance to the whirling cogs of internet bitterness. People know that no punches will be pulled in order to achieve a sweet burn. The internet is a system built perfectly for facilitating sweet clapbacks, slams and times for people to meet ruination by words.

Sometimes stereotypes can be harmful, but other times they’re pretty amusing. In this instance, these people asked Twitter to roast a photo of them based on what it looks like they do for a living. Don’t feel too sorry for them because, well, you can’t say they weren’t literally asking for it!
