Mama Chicken Embraces Ducklings As Her Own

After losing her baby chicks, this mother hen has taken in seven little critters into her care: 5 ducklings and 2 Totenko Fowl chicks. This mama has her work cut out for her!

Protective and caring, this mother hen is turning out to be the best mother these other little critters could’ve ever hoped for!

Don’t believe us? Watch how these chicken dotes on the ducklings and how the ducklings flock to her — instead of their actual birth mother.

Maternal instinct comes to naturally this caring chicken.

Woman And Orangutan Share Beautiful Moment Together As She Breastfeeds

Gemma Copeland was left in tears after visiting Schoenbrunn Zoo in Vienna, Austria.

While in the orangutan enclosure, Copeland realized her son, 15-month-old Jasper, was hungry. She sat down against the glass to breastfeed him when a female orangutan, named Sol, who had been watching Copeland intently, comes to sit beside her.. as if protecting her as she breastfeeds.

Sadly, Sol had previously given birth to a stillborn infant.

Copeland was moved to tears by the gesture, writing, “She looked directly into my eyes then placed her hand up as if to touch my son. I was in awe of this beautiful creature already. My son wanted feeding and as it was quiet I fed him whilst I sat there. The way the orangutan reacted took my breath away she kept looking at me, then my son then back again.

She sat with me for approximately half an hour, and kept stroking the glass and lay down next to me as if to support and protect me. I was absolutely gobsmacked and got quite a crowd of people turning up to see what was going on – people were sat watching quietly and respectfully. It was really lovely and I didn’t want to leave – it felt incredible and I was crying so much because I couldn’t take it in.

I had to share this because my mind was blown, we may be a species apart but breastfeeding connected us today in a once in a lifetime moment that will stay with me forever.”

Sol undoubtably had a strong connection to this mother and her child. Orangutans are such gentle and loving souls, Sol is an example of that love.

Momma Cat Adopts Puppy Into Her Litter

Motherhood just comes naturally to some! Meet Jada, a British shorthair cat living in Brookfield, Connecticut. Jada is one of those born-to-be mothers as she also adopted a newborn Chihuahua, named Lazarus, into her litter.

Lazarus originally had quite a troublesome entry into the world for the puppy.

told CTInsider. “This mother has really saved his life.”‘ data-reactid=”13″ type=”text”>The animals’ owner, veterinarian Sharon Eisen told CTInsider, “I didn’t think he was going to make it. This mother has really saved his life.”

Last week, Lazarus’s birth mother underwent a C-section, and since she wasn’t awake for the procedure, she didn’t develop mothering instincts, not producing milk and effectively abandoning newborn Lazarus.

Eisen continued, “We had a puppy with no mother and no milk,” she also tried alternative feeding methods that all proved fruitless.

When it came down to saving this pup’s life, Eisen decided to test the formulas for both kittens and puppies, and compared the two milks and came to the conclusion that the milks shared enough similarities. Thus leading to having Jada nurse Lazarus.

Eisen introduced Lazarus to Jada, who had recently birthed a litter of kittens, of which she lost one.

It was the moment when Eisen saw Jada cleaning Lazarus, as she would one of her own, that Eisen knew Lazarus has been fully accepted.

And to make the moment even sweeter, Eisen says Lazarus has also been accepted by the rest of the kittens!
