“Sea Of Pink”: Thousands of Flamingos Have Taken Over Mumbai

Tens of thousands of flamingos have flocked to Mumbai after India’s nationwide lockdown left the city quieter than usual.

Clearer skies, quieter streets, and cleaner air are thought to have made the usually polluted city more attractive to birdlife.

According to Rahul Khot, an assistant director at the Bombay Natural History Society, It’s not just the huge number of birds that are attracting attention – they have also spread to wetlands where they were previously a rarity. They are being reported from places where they have earlier been reported less in number because there is no human activity there now”, he told CNN.

Los Angeles Has Finished Designing a Wildlife Bridge Over a 10-lane Highway

Roadkill is a huge problem for many cities, and to solve this crisis, Los Angeles decided to implement the world’s largest wildlife bridge that will extend over US Highway 101, a 10-lane freeway. The animal overpass will connect various parts of the Santa Monica Moutain in order to protect mountain lions and other wildlife. The 10-lane highway restricted many animals from roaming as they would naturally, however, the green bridge will now allow mountain lions to socialize and mate, significantly increasing their odds of surviving as a species. The bridge has a budget of $87 million USD and recently entered the final design phase. If all goes to plan, the bridge should open by 2023. Well done, L.A!

Ducks in a Rural French Village Won Court Case And Can Keep On Quacking

‘The ducks have won’!

The French court ruled few days ago that a flock of around 60 ducks and geese on a small farm can keep on quacking, rejecting a neighbor’s complaint that the birds’ racket was making their life a misery.

The court ruled that the noise from the flock kept by retired farmer, Dominique Douthe, in southwestern France, was within acceptable limits, broadcaster France 3 said.

“The ducks have won,” Douthe told Reuters after the court decision. “I’m very happy because I didn’t want to slaughter my ducks.”

The complaint was brought by Ms. Douthe’s neighbor, who moved from the city around a year ago into a property about 50 meters away from the enclosure. The neighbor’s lawyer claimed the noise exceeded permissible levels and prevented the neighbor from enjoying their garden or sleeping with their house windows open.

The dispute is the latest in a series of court cases that have seen rural French traditions, especially farmyard noises, challenged by new residents.

A Dog With a Huge Heart Notices Bird Trapped On The Porch And Steps In For Help

The first thing that comes to our mind when we think of dogs is definitely friendliness and loyalty. Not only they are compassionate towards their owners and those of their kind, but dogs very often empathize with other animals too. Take for example this dog, Gus, who is one of those canines that has a huge heart and loves doing good. Recently, one of his acts of kindness was caught on a video and shared on YouTube. Needless to say, he became a real sensation. Namely, Gus was outside having some fun when he noticed a little bird trapped on the porch. The gentle giant felt sorry for the powerless bird so he decided to step in. He approached closer and took it to safety.

British Farmer Becomes a Viral Tik Tok Sensation By Posting Pure Videos From His Farm

The Caenhill Countryside Centre is a charity near Devizes, Wiltshire, which works with schoolchildren and young people to teach them about farming, animals, and the countryside. The farm is owned by 61-year-old Chris Franklin, who has the cutest daily habit of posting “Rush hour” videos of his farm animals- every morning he opens the door to his barn and commentates as the many ducks, geese, and roosters inside make their way into the yard. Franklin had always been interested in the internet, he said, and he heard the kids on his farm talking about TikTok. When he went on the app, he was confused by the fact there were people “lipsyncing and doing fun things … 15 seconds of madness!” He wondered if his own footage of the animals would go down well on the app. Well, thousands of views and followers later, it most certainly has. Check out some of his cute videos.
